Herrmann and Ashcraft Claim CCS Superlative Awards, Five Named to CCS All-Conference Listing

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Piedmont volleyball team claimed two of the four superlative awards in the CCS all-conference announcement as Taylor Herrmann earned CCS Libero of the Year while Kaylee Ashcraft took home CCS Rookie of the Year. 

Five total Lions earned all-conference honors with Herrmann and Ashcraft joined on the first team listing by Jenna Ash while Vanessa Manzo and Katie Hubbard earned second team honors.

BY THE NUMBERS:
Digs: 500 (1st in the CCS)
Of Note: Herrmann led Piedmont with 500 digs as she eclipsed 1,000 in her career this season. She posted over 170 more digs than anyone else on the Lions' team and averaged 4.85 digs per set.

Kaylee Ashcraft, CCS Rookie of the Year and All-CCS First Team

BY THE NUMBERS:
Service Aces: 84 (1st n the CCS, top-3 nationally)
Digs: 324 (2nd for the Lions)
Kills: 218 (3rd for the Lions)
Of Note: Ashcraft was a force to be reckoned with serving as she posted over 30 more service aces than anyone else in the league in her debut season. She also was second on Piedmont's team in digs with 324 and added 218 kills which was third on the team.

BY THE NUMBERS:
Kills: 254 (6th in the CCS, 1st for the Lions)
Of Note: Ash posted over 250 kills this season to lead Piedmont while ranking in the top-10 in the league standings. She also totaled double digit kills in 14-of-25 matches played.

Vanessa Manzo, All-CCS Second Team

BY THE NUMBERS:
Assists: 819 (2nd in the CCS, 1st for the Lions)
Of Note: Manzo totaled over 800 assists this season accounting for all but 232 of Piedmont's total. She also added 30 service aces and totaled 89 kills, mostly on sneaky assists turned attacks.

Katie Hubbard, All-CCS Second Team

BY THE NUMBERS:
Kills: 234 (2nd for the Lions)
Of Note: Hubbard was able to be a significant contributor in her sophomore season posting the second-most kills for the Lions with 234. She had a career-high 15 kills twice this season against Wesleyan and Berea.
