Strength & Conditioning

Piedmont University's 2700 square foot fitness center has undergone a remarkable transformation, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. The renovation, highlighted by a fresh and vibrant paint job, brilliantly integrates the iconic Piedmont Lion brand with the campus wellness and strength and conditioning department and the addition of four custom design weightlifting racks designed by Elite FTS company.

The carefully selected colors evoke energy, resilience, and unity, mirroring the university's values. This revitalized space not only fosters a sense of community but also inspires students and student-athletes to embrace their personal fitness goals. The fusion of branding and fitness underscores Piedmont's commitment to holistic student development. The renovated fitness center stands as a testament to the university's dedication to both physical and symbolic growth.

The four new racks will allow for better sports performance training at a much higher and safer level than ever before.

Coach Delf wants to offer an invitation to all alumni of Piedmont University to see the new spirit and heartbeat of Piedmont University Athletics.

COLE HANSEN

Piedmont athletics has announced the hiring of Cole Hansen as its new Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.

Hansen joins the Lions after spending the last several months in the private sector, serving as General Manager of MADabolic in Johns Creek, Georgia.

Prior to his time in the private sector, Hansen has earned multiple years of sports performance experience, ranging from the high school to the professional level, with a collegiate stop as well.

After earning his bachelor of science in kinesiology from the University of North Georgia in 2020, Hansen remained with the Nighthawks, serving as a sports performance coach until 2022. While with UNG, he led speed, strength, agility and mobility programs for five Olympic sports.

From there, Hansen spent over a year as a Minor League strength coach in the Miami Marlins organizations where he designed and implemented strength and conditioning and rehab programs for minor and major league players.

From August 2023 to November of 2024, Hansen spent time in the Tallulah Falls school system as Strength & Conditioning Coach where he developed and implemented strength and conditioning programs tailored to athletes’ specific goals and needs and collaborated with athletic trainers and coaches to adjust in-season programming and minimize injury risk.

In addition to earning his bachelor of science in 2020 from UNG, Hansen also has a master’s in exercise science from UNG, earned in 2022.
