USA SOUTH TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: Women's Lacrosse Hosts Greensboro in USA South First Round

DEMOREST, Ga. - The No. 2 seed Piedmont women's lacrosse team is set to welcome No. 7 seed Greensboro to Demorest for USA South Tournament First Round action.

The winner of that matchup will then move on to the semifinal round to battle either No. 6 seed Huntingdon or No. 3 seed Methodist.

Savannah Limehouse was the recipient on both, converting first on a feed from Carson Bezold, which placed her in a tie for the single season program record. Then, around a minute later, Limehouse struck again, this time off an assist from the senior Welch.

Piedmont was able to find a pair of goals in the second half. Limehouse secured her 10th hat trick of the season before the senior Welch closed out the third quarter for Piedmont's fourth and final goal.

Piedmont finishes the regular season with an 8-1 conference record.

REGULAR SEASON VS. HUNTINGDON 

Piedmont 20, Greensboro 0 (3/28/26)

It was all Piedmont from the start as the Lions scored 10 goals in the opening period before another nine combined over the next two periods.  With the decision in hand, Piedmont scored only once in the 4th, but held Greensboro scoreless for another shutout in conference play.  

Avery Washington scored the first goal after 15 seconds had ticked by before Lovette Choloh tallied a hat-trick in less than three minutes of game scoring the next three goals for the visiting Lions.

As the game turned to the 2nd quarter, all doubt to the victor had been erased as Piedmont went on to tack 10 goals to the total winning a 20-0 decision over the hosting Pride.

PIEDMONT NOTES:
- The Lions put together a strong season in the USA South, losing just one contest in conference play.
- Carson Bezold has been an assist threat all year for the Lions. Her great regular season was punctuated in the season finale with her tying the single-season assist record for the program.
- Savannah Limehouse was once again dominant for Piedmont. Leading the Lions in goals with 54 on the season and owning second place on the team in points with 66.
- Lovette Choloh has been a force all season for the Lions. The senior has tallied career highs in goals, assists, points and draw controls while also leading the Lions in caused turnovers.
- Amanda Barrett has been a staple of the backfield for the Lions. Barrett has been a game wrecker for Piedmont, earning second on the team in caused turnovers.
