2026 Women's Lacrosse Senior Spotlight

These seniors have combined for 45 regular season wins and three playoff wins in their time with Piedmont, including a 10-6 record so far in 2026. During the 2025 season this group aided a 13-win season, the most program wins in the regular season since 2019. This group includes record breakers on the field and excellence in the classroom. This senior class has combined for seven USA South All-Academic Team selections, three Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coach’s Association Academic Honoree selections, and includes three USA South Rookie of the Week selections and a USA South All-Conference Second Team selection.

CLARA WELCH | CANTON, GA
Clara Welch Senior Spotlight

Welch has been a consistent presence for the Lions since 2023. Across her career, she has started in 44 games for Piedmont. In her rookie season, Clara earned three USA South rookie of the week honors for her efforts. She also set a career high in goals in her freshman year with 48 goals. In 2025 she was fourth on the team in goals with 41 on the season and tallied 11 assists. This season, Welch has continued being a main contributor on the field with 22 goals and nine assists for the Lions.

CARSON BEZOLD | ABERDEEN, MD
Carson Bezold Senior Spotlight

Bezold has appeared in 66 games across her career in the green and gold. Carson has accumulated 180 points during her career while tallying 115 assists. This season, Bezold set the single-game assists record against William Peace with 12 assists. Carson currently sits second all-time in the single season assist total with 56 on the season. Bezold broke out in her junior season, setting a career high in goals with 25. Bezold also received commendations in the classroom, being a member of the USA South All-Academic Team in both 2023 and 2025. She also earned recognition from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches' Association in 2025 as an Academic Honoree.

NOELLE POTEETE | EVANS, GA
Noelle Poteete Senior Spotlight

Poteete has appeared in 58 games for the Lions over the course of her career. Noelle has been a game wrecker in the backfield for Piedmont, causing 27 turnovers during her collegiate career. This season she set a career high in caused turnovers with 14 so far. Poteete also excels in the classroom, earning a spot on the USA South All-Academic team in 2023 and 2025 while being an academic honoree from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coach’s Association in 2025.

TAMAR TOMPKINS | SNELLVILLE, GA
Tamar Tompkins Senior Spotlight

Tamar has appeared in 51 so far games for Piedmont. Tompkins has spent her career as a defensive threat for the Lions. In 2024 she caused an at-the-time career-high six turnovers while collecting 16 ground balls during the season, earning her a spot on the All-USA South Second Team. This season Tompkins has been a force in the back for Piedmont, causing 18 turnovers and collecting 24 ground balls to this point in the season.

LOVETTE CHOLOH | DACULA, GA
Lovette Choloh Senior Spotlight

Choloh has been a constant stalwart for the Lions at the front of their attack. Lovette wasted no time being a contributor, as in her freshman season she scored 14 goals while collecting 12 draw controls. Choloh broke out in 2024, scoring 38 goals, landing her in the top three for the team during the season. She also caused 13 turnovers, assisting on both sides of the ball. In 2025 she remained a threat while tallying a at the time career high in draw controls with 67 on the season. This year Choloh has remained at the front of the attack for Piedmont, scoring a career-high 34 goals for the green and gold and currently sits second on the team in the stat.

AMANDA BARRETT | RAMONA, CALIF
Amanda Barrett Senior Spotlight

Barrett has been a strong midfield presence for the Lions across her career, appearing in 61 games. In 2024 she started in 11 games for the Lions while collecting eight points and three assists. Amanda earned her way onto the USA South All-Academic Team during the same season. Barrett followed her sophomore campaign with an even strong junior outing, collecting 34 draw controls while causing 12 turnovers. This season, Barrett has continued to elevate her game, scoring career highs in ground balls, caused turnovers, and draw controls.

LAURA CRONE | VIENNA, VA
Laura Crone Senior Spotlight

Crone has been a contributor for the Lions since her freshman year, where she scored seven goals while earning 12 assists. Laura continued her good work in her second season before breaking out in her junior campaign in 2025. During that season, Crone scored a career high in goals with 26 while collecting 23 ground balls. This season, Laura has continued to set career highs, entering today’s game with 27 goals. Crone has received honors for her work both on and off the field. In 2025, she was selected to the USA South All-Sportsmanship Team. Academically, Crone earned recognition on the USA South All-Academic team in both 2023 and 2025 while also becoming an Academic Honoree from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches' Association in the same season.
