FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - For the second time this season, Piedmont women's golf freshman Aubree Hill has been named USA South Rookie of the Week, as the league office announced its weekly awards Wednesday afternoon.

The Bogart, Georgia native has now earned top rookie honors after both of Piedmont's events this fall.
 

At the Montgomery Women's Intercollegiate this past weekend, Hill fired rounds of 81 and 78, good for a tied for 17th finish against a strong field of competitors.

In the first round Sunday, Hill began her tournament with back-to-back birdies, making four total in the round on her way to an 81. Then, in the final round, Hill played a steady round of golf to improve to a 78, helping the Lions move up the leaderboard to a tie for sixth finish as a team.

Up next, the Lions will be away from competition for a few weeks before teeing it up at the Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational, starting Oct. 12 in Destin, Florida.
