SEASON RECAP: Men's Track & Field 2025

• The Lions continued their run of dominance in 2025, capturing the CCS Conference Championship for the third straight season.
• Head Coach Jamie Jimison led the wmen to a conference championship for the third time in a row and fourth time overall, having captured the 2021 USA South Championship.
• 13 Lions earned All-Conference honors for their performance at the conference meet, highlighted by Jimison earning Coach of the Year and Silas Goolsby earning Track Athlete of the Meet.
• Newcomers Jayden Smith and George Ketch had outstanding seasons to lead the throwers, with each setting school records along the way.
• Goolsby had an incredible season, qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in the 200m, where he earned Second Team All-America honors.

• Freshman Jayden Smith set a school record in the shot put with a 13.94m throw earning second place behind Life University's Geovanni Hawes mark of 14.73m.
• Piedmont saw top-10 finishes in many field events as Bryant Murray earned fourth place in the men's long jump with a 6.71m jump. Three men earned top-10 marks in the weight throw led by Ethan Jackson with a 14.01m throw in his return. 
• In the men's 600m, Silas Goolsby broke another school record with his 1:23.58 to earn fifth place also as the top Division III student-athlete.

• Silas Goolsby ran a 21.10 in the 200m breaking his own school record and ranking tied for second nationally. He bettered his time from a 21.55 which had ranked him 19th nationally. His time put him second in the event as Piedmont competed against competition of varying levels over the weekend. 
• Walker Capelle  broke the record in the 10,000m with a 32:27.41 to finish fourth in the event. 
• Matthew Blocksom posted a fourth place finish in the men's discus with a 40.71m coming on his final attempt. 
• Garrett Stadler took second in the men's 400m hurdles with a 55.28 while the men's 4x100m team of Drey Hudgins, Silas Goolsby, Jimmy Channell and Bryant Murray posted a 43.96 for fifth.

• Junior Silas Goolsby was seeded as the favorite in the 200m & 400m and rose to the occasion taking the individual title in the 200m with a 21.81 while claiming the 400m with a time of 49.03. He was the lone Lion to claim multiple individual titles at the championship. 
• The men took the 4x100m title as Al Martin, Michael Adewusi, Jimmy Channell and Drey Hudgins ran a 43.08. 
• Tucker Cox earned his second straight win in the 3,000m steeplechase running a 10:15.21, a personal best for the senior. 
• Also in the distance events, Walker Capelle won the 10,000m running a 32:41.80. 
• In the field events, Piedmont won the hammer throw for the third-straight year with a different winner each time as George Ketch claimed the title with a 44.91m mark. In the discus, Matthew Blocksom won with a 41.25m throw as both Blocksom and Ketch entered as the favorites in their respective events.
