ANDERSON, S.C. - Piedmont Track and Field saw several school record performances at the Electric City Invitational in South Carolina including a nationally-ranked time in the 200m from
Silas Goolsby.
Silas Goolsby ran a 21.10 in the 200m breaking his own school record and ranking tied for second nationally. He bettered his time from a 21.55 which had ranked him 19th nationally. His time put him second in the event as Piedmont competed against competition of varying levels over the weekend.
Friday saw a pair of school records fall as
Skyler Seeber and
Walker Capelle both broke the record in the 10,000m. Seeber ran a 38:41.48 to break the record by over 30 seconds and finish second while Capelle ran a 32:27.41 finishing fourth in the event.
Allie Feltus posted a third place finish in the women's discus with a 37.73m mark.
Matthew Blocksom posted a fourth place finish in the men's discus with a 40.71m coming on his final attempt.
Garrett Stadler took second in the men's 400m hurdles with a 55.28 while the men's 4x100m team of
Drey Hudgins,
Silas Goolsby,
Jimmy Channell and
Bryant Murray posted a 43.96 for fifth.
Multiple personal bests were set in the javelin as
Kerrigan McClain,
Al Martin and
Ileyna Brooks all set new best marks while
Haley McLeer set a new PR in the pole vault.
Up next, the Lions will be at Berry for the Berry Field Day Invitational April 10-12.
