Track & Field Heads to Maryville for 2025 CCS Championships

DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont University track and field program travels to Maryville for the Collegiate Conference of the South Championships, starting on Wednesday, April 23. The meet is scheduled to take place over two days concluding on Thursday, April 24. 

The Piedmont men enter as the back-to-back defending champions while the women claimed second overall in 2024 after winning the inaugural CCS Championship in 2023. 

Both programs were selected atop the preseason coaches poll released in late February. For the men, this would mark their third-straight championship in the CCS in just the third year of the league, while for the women, it would be their second CCS title in three seasons. 

On the performance list for the CCS, the Piedmont men have 20 athletes ranked in the top three and eight individuals who rank at the top of their events led by Silas Goolsby (200m & 400m) and Garrett Stadler (400h & High Jump) who claim the top spot in a pair of events. 

For the women on the performance list for the CCS, Piedmont posts 16 top-three finishes with eight individuals who rank at the top of their events. Both Skyler Seeber (10,000m & 3k steeplechase) and Michelle Cates (100h & 400h) lead the pack in a pair of events while Piedmont leads in three of the four throws events.
