2026 Track & Field Senior Spotlight

These four seniors have been crucial to the Lions success in their careers, leading them to CCS Championships in 2023 and 2025. This group has shattered school records while earning conference and national recognition in multiple events throughout their careers. 

BELLA CACCAMO | CANTON, GA.
Bella Caccamo Senior Spotlight

Caccamo has been a constant contributor in all her years for the Lions. She was a key member in the Lions' 2023 and 2025 championship seasons. Across her time Bella has shattered records while creating her own mark in Piedmont history. In 2023 Caccamo set the record in the indoor DMR at the USC Invite while setting five separate records in 2026 alone in the indoor 600m, the indoor 800m, the indoor 1K, the outdoor 800m and the outdoor 4x400m relay. In 2023 Caccamo was a part of the All-CCS Third Team in the 4x400m relay and the 4x100m relay. Caccamo has set multiple PRs this season as well with sharper times in the 400m, 400m hurdles, 1500m and the high jump. Academically, Caccamo earned a spot on the CCS All-Academic Team in 2025.

MICHELLE CATES | DOUGLASVILLE, GA.
Michelle Cates Senior Spotlight

Michelle Cates has been a fixture for the Lions in all her four years at Piedmont. Cates owns the school record in the outdoor 4x400m relay that she set at the Berry Field Day and Multi-Invitational this season. Cates was a part of both the 2023 and 2025 championship teams for the Lions. Cates has earned strong commendations from the CCS as well, being a part of the All-CCS First Team in the 100m hurdles in both 2023 and 2025. Additionally, Cates received another selection to the CCS first team in the 400m hurdles event in both 2024 and 2025. Michelle earned an all-CCS second team selection in the 100m hurdles event in 2024. Cates earned an All CCS Third Team selection in 2023 in the 4x100m relay and in 2024 earned the selection in the 4x400m relay. In 2026 Michelle set five PRs in the indoor 60m hurdle, the outdoor 400m hurdle, the 400m, and the indoor 600m. Cates also set a PR at the 2025 CCS Championships in the outdoor 100m hurdles. In the classroom, Cates was selected to the CCS All-Academic Team in 2025.

SILAS GOOLSBY | DACULA, GA.
Silas Goolsby Senior Spotlight

Goolsby has had a storied career in the green and gold and was a key member on the 2023 and 2025 championship teams. During his rookie campaign, Silas was selected as the CCS Rookie of the Week three times. Along with his conference honors, Goolsby earned a selection onto the All-CCS Third Team in the 110m hurdles and the 400m hurdles. Additionally, in his rookie season, he set a school record in the indoor 500m at the Finn Pincus Invitational. In 2024, Goolsby earned all-CCS second-team honors in both the 110 hurdles and 4x100m relay. In his junior campaign, Silas broke out even further, setting school records in the outdoor 200m, indoor 300m, and the outdoor 110m hurdles, with the outdoor 110m hurdles record being set at the 2025 CCS Championship. Silas also earned CCS Track Athlete of the Meet in the 2025 Championship and brought home three CCS Track Athlete of the Week honors. Also in 2025, Goolsby earned CCS First Team Honors in the 200 m and the 400 m. The commendations didn’t end there for Goolsby in 2025 as he earned All-Region honors from the USTFCCCA in the 110m hurdles and the 200m outdoors. Goolsby participated in the NCAA National Qualifier in the 200m outdoor event. For his efforts during the 2025 campaign, Goolsby was selected as a USTFCCCA Second Team All American. Across his career, Silas has set PRs in the 400m and 60m hurdles in 2023, the 600m in 2025, and the 100m in 2026.

KERRIGAN MCCLAIN | SAINT MARYS, GA.
Kerrigan McClain Senior Spotlight

McClain has been a strong member of the Lions squad for his time at Piedmont, including being a member of the 2023 and the 2025 championship teams. In 2023, Kerrigan earned a spot on the All-CCS First Team in shot put and a spot on the All-CCS Third Team in the hammer throw event. Kerrigan set multiple PRs during the 2024 season in the shot put, discus, hammer throw, and weight throw. In 2026 McClain set a new PR in the javelin throw.
