2025 PIEDMONT WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY SEASON RECAP

  • The Lions delivered a fourth-place finish out of seven at the CCS Cross Country Championships.
  • Senior Bella Caccamo finished 8th with a time of  24:58.27, CCS All-Conference Second Team.
  • This was Gary Halverson's first season with the Lions as a coach and the team did not disappoint, coming home with PRs across the board for the women.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Piedmont University men's & women's cross country team took on the Converse Kickoff late Friday afternoon as the only Division III team represented.
  • Senior Bella Caccamo led the group, placing 70th at the meet while turning in a time of 22:50.
  • Freshmen Madison Worsham and Katie Payne rounded out the finishers for the meet, with Worsham running a time of 23:38.5 while Payne turned in a time of 27:23.

  • Bella Caccamo led Piedmont women's cross country at the CCS Championship Friday morning with another exceptional PR, crossing the finish at 24:58.27 and placing 8th, making CCS All-Conference Second Team.
  • After earning CCS Rookie of the Week honors earlier this season, freshman Madison Worsham takes home an impressive PR by at least 18 seconds. Worsham was second to cross the line for the Lions, coming in 21st place with a time of 26:59.64. Katie Payne, also a freshman, was not too far from Worsham coming in 30th with a PR time of 30:31.1.
  • Freshman Naomi Oti-Wapala had her debut with the cross country team and  was fourth to cross the line for the women placing 36th with a time of 31:49.87. Freshman Eva Doyne rounded out the pack for Piedmont, but came in with a PR time of 38:56.49.

  • Senior Bella Caccamo took home eighth place and was rewarded with a spot on the All-CCS Second Team. Caccamo was also Piedmont's reprenstative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
  • Caccamo delivered a PR performance in the biggest race of the season to date, breaking the 25 minute mark to finish eighth at the CCS Championship on Friday, Oct. 31. The senior was knocking on the door of a first team appearance but leads the second team honorees.
