Season Preview: Women's Cross Country

After finishing third in the conference in 2023, the Piedmont women's cross country team is looking to get back on top of the Collegiate Conference of the South in 2024. The Lions begin their season on Saturday, August 31 as they travel to the Berry XC Mixed Relay.

  • Five regular season events highlight the schedule for the  Lions before Piedmont prepares for the CCS Championships in November.
  • Piedmont opens their season at the Berry XC Mixed Relay on Saturday, August 31.
  • For the second year in a row the squad will remain close to home and compete at the UNG Invite in Oakwood, Ga. on Friday, September 13.
  • The Lions will travel to Salem, Va. for the Roanoke XC Invitational before preparing for the conference championship meet.
  • Belhaven University will host the Collegiate Conference of the South Championship on Friday, November 1 in Jackson, Miss.

  • Senior Jaycie Ponce and sophomore Skyler Seeber both finished Top 5 at the CCS Championships
    • The two were seperated by just .3 seconds with Ponce claiming fourth while Seeber took fifth.
  • Sophomore Hannah Marlowe turned in a PR performance as she finished just outside the Top 10 in 11th place.
  • Ponce and Seeber earned CCS First Team All-Conference honors while Marlowe claimed CCS Second Team All-Conference honors.
  • At the NCAA South Regional, Piedmont finished 13th out of 22 programs.
    • Ponce finished 37th overall while Seeber raced to a 44th place finish.

2024 Women's Cross Country Roster
  • Jamie Jimison is entering his sixth year at Piedmont as Director of Cross Country and Track and Field in the fall of 2024.
  • In his cross country coaching career as a Lion, Jimison’s teams have never finished lower than fourth in the USA South conference championships on either the men’s or women’s competitions.
    • Now in the CCS, his women's team is looking to capture their second conference title in three years.
