DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont men's swimming saw 15 swimmers earn all-conference honors following their performances at the Independent South Swimming Conference Championships. The 15 honorees come as Piedmont laid claim to the 2024 Championship behind three days of stellar work.
Of the 15 Lions honored, 14 earned distinctions in multiple races, including eight swimmers who earned the honor in three different events.
Junior
Leandro Forero highlights the all-conference list as he shattered three individual conference-meet records while also playing a part in breaking the 800 yard free relay record. Forero claimed the 200 free (1:47.35), 500 free (4:46.84) and the 400 IM (4:21.25).
Junior
Erick Fortner also had an incredible meet, breaking three individual records of his own. Fortner shattered the 100 breaststroke (57.89), 200 breaststroke (2:07.22) and the 200 IM (1:59.55).
The team of
Ross Coppedge,
Jon Brown,
Alex Pangelinan and
Luke Borgmann broke the 200 free relay conference record with a time of 1:28.27.
Glynn Morgan,
Murphy O'Brien,
Perry Westbrook and Forero broke the 800 free relay conference record with a final time of 7:18.89.
Head coach
Teddy Guyer was named Coach of the Year for the third straight year by the conference for his continued hard work, dedication and success with the Piedmont program.
