DEMOREST, Ga. - Methodist University announced earlier Friday that Kirsten McKay has been named the school's Head Women's Lacrosse Coach.
McKay spent the last four seasons at Piedmont leading the women's lacrosse program posting a 12-7 record in 2023 and advancing to the USA South semifinals.
"We could not be happier for Coach Kirsten McKay on her move to Methodist, for both personal and professional reasons," said Jim Peeples, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. "Coach McKay has made an impact on our women's lacrosse program in her four years at the helm and we will miss her greatly. Her expertise and vision will serve her well in her next endeavor and has set up the women's lacrosse program here at Piedmont for continued success."
Over her four seasons leading the Lions, McKay amassed a 33-25 overall record highlighted by an undefeated USA South Regular Season in 2021, resulting in a USA South West Division Regular Season Title. In total, McKay coached 12 All-USA South players and helped the team earn three consecutive IWLCA Team Academic awards. This past season, she guided the Lady Lions to 12 wins, the most for the program since the 14-win 2015 campaign.
