GREENWOOD, Ind. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly known as CoSIDA, have released their At-Large Academic All-District teams with
LAUREN KNOWLES,
KAYLEE MORELAND,
BRIGITTE BILDERBACK and
ALY REECE being among those honored.
This marks the first time each one has been honored by the organization.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The sophomore from Athens continued to cement herself as a staple of the Piedmont defense in 2023, making a career high in starts with 17. Her lockdown defense earned her second team all-conference honors from the USA South while she collected 20 ground balls and forced 13 turnovers.
Moreland earned significantly more playing time in 2023, appearing in nearly double the amount of contests while making a career-high 11 starts. The Buford native also turned in solid numbers on the defensive end, collecting 14 ground balls while forcing nine turnovers.
The Roswell native closed out her career in Demorest with yet another great season for the Lady Lions. Matching her career high in games played, Bilderback added 10 ground balls and seven caused turnovers to her career stat line while continuing to be a force for the Piedmont defense.
The sophomore from Buford missed time during the 2023 campaign but still put up head turning numbers on the offensive end. Despite playing five less contests than her freshman year, Reece still almost matched her previous totals in goals and assists. While totaling 37 points, Reece also collected 12 ground balls and forced 4 turnovers.
