Women's Lacrosse Earns Fourth USA South Victory Over N.C. Wesleyan, 16-1

Megan McDowell led the Lady Lions offense with three goals as the squad defeated USA South host N.C. Wesleyan College by the score of 16-1.
Box Score ROCKY MOUNT, North Carolina - The Piedmont College women's lacrosse team traveled to USA South Conference host N.C. Wesleyan College this afternoon and claimed a 16-1 victory. The Lady Lions took an 11-0 lead into halftime and outscored the opposition 5-1 in the second frame en route to the win.

The Lady Lions jumped out just :21 seconds into the match as Ashton Nash posted the unassisted goal. In the next two minutes Megan McDowell posted a pair of goals to give Piedmont the 3-0 advantage. The women would add eight more unanswered goals before intermission to take command.

In the second frame PC was able to post the first five goals before the Bishops would post a goal with 4:22 remaining in regulation.

McDowell and Maggie McDaniel recorded three goals respectively while Nash, Alexis Narducci and Elaine Rossignol added two goals apiece. Goalkeeper Carly Haraka narrowly missed the shutout posting two saves in her ninth win of the season.

The Lady Lions, now 10-2 overall and 4-2 in the USA South, will return to action again tomorrow, March 30 as they take on Christopher Newport University starting at 1:00.
