Box Score DEMOREST, Georgia - The Piedmont College women's lacrosse team dropped their second match of the season this afternoon to visiting USA South Conference member Ferrum College by the score of 17-7. The Panthers controlled the offense outshooting the Lady Lions 33-18 for the match.
Ferrum struck early with three goals in the first five minutes to take the only lead of the match. Piedmont responded as
Alexis Narducci posted a pair of goals cutting the deficit to one with 20 minutes remaining. The Panthers would answer with six of the next eight goals to take a 9-4 advantage into intermission.
In the second frame after a pair of goals from the visitors
Maggie McDaniel connected on a break away goal to cut the lead to 11-5. Ferrum would add four insurance goals to extend the lead and fended off a pair of Lady Lions goals down the stretch.
Narducci led the way with a hat-trick of goals while McDaniel and
Megan McDowell added a pair of goals each. Between the pipes
Carly Haraka posted eight saves.
The loss slides PC to 9-2 overall and 3-2 in the USA South. The Lady Lions will return to conference action on Friday, March 29 as they travel to North Carolina Wesleyan College for a 1:00 start.
