Women's Lacrosse Remains Perfect, Defeats Berry College 10-5

Megan McDowell posted a hat-trick of goals in the Lady Lions 10-5 victory at non-conference host Berry College.
Box Score ROME, Georgia - The Piedmont College women's lacrosse team remained unblemished this evening with a 10-5 victory at non-conference host Berry College. The Lady Lions posted five goals in each half en route to their ninth victory of the season.

After Piedmont posted the first four goals of the match the home standing Vikings answered with four goals of their own and knotting the score. With only 1:45 remaining in the first hald Megan McDowell found the back of the net giving the Lady Lions the slim 5-4 margin entering halftime.

in the second frame PC was able to pull away with the first three goals of the half to take an 8-4 advantage. After Berry would add a single goal Maggie McDaniel and Kayla Freund tacked on a pair of insurance goals.

McDaniel led the offense with three goals and an assist while McDowell added a hat-trick of goals. Freund added a pair of goals and assists respectively while Jennifer Opper and Alexis Narducci chipped-in with single goals apiece. Between the pipes Carly Haraka posted eight saves on 13 shots for her eighth victory of the season.

The Lady Lions, now 9-0 overall, will return to the field again on Saturday, March 23 as they host USA South member Greensboro College starting at 10:00.
