Lady Lions Remain Unbeaten WIth 17-5 Victory Over Methodist University

Megan McDowell posted three goals and an assist as the Lady Lions defeated USA South Conference host Methodist University by the score of 17-5.
Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina - The Piedmont College women's lacrosse remained unbeaten and extended their winning-streak to seven games this afternoon with a USA South Conference victory over host Methodist University 17-5. The Lady Lions exploded for 14 goals in the first half and held the Lady Monarchs to only two goals in the second frame en route to the win.

In the first half Piedmont controlled the offense outshooting the home team 22-4 and forcing 10 turnovers. In a low scoring second half the Lady Lions posted three goals on seven shots while holding the Lady Monarchs to only four shots.

Kayla Freund led the offense with five goals while Megan McDowell and Maggie McDaniel added three goals apiece. Five other players recorded at least one goal and the squad added four assists.

The victory moves Piedmont to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the USA South Conference standings. The Lady Lions will quickly turn around and take on non-conference foe Randolph College tomorrow, March 17 in a neautral site match starting at 12:00.
