DEMOREST, Georgia -- The Piedmont College women's lacrosse team won their third straight match this evening over visiting Oglethorpe University by the score of 18-4.  The Lady Lions dominated the offensive side of the field outshooting the opponents 33-11 en route to the double-digit victory.

KAYLA FREUND got things going early for Piedmont just inside the second minute of play when she scored an unassisted goal to put the Lions up 1-0.  Freund's goal was the first of a four-goal offensive burst in the first five minutes of play for the Lady Lions that also involved goals from JENNIFER OPPER and ALEXIS NARDUCCI.  Oglethorpe answered PC's early 4-0 run with a goal near the midway point but the home team would respond to OU lone first half goal by finishing the half with seven straight goals to add to their lead (11-1).

The second frame saw the Lady Lions add seven goals while holding the Stormy Petrels to three while outshooting the visitors 11-5.

ALEXIS NARDUCCI and MEGAN MCDOWELL both netted four goals to lead the Lady Lions offensive attack.  The Petrels were led by Michelle Vasques who scored two goals on the night.

Piedmont (3-0, 2-0 USA South) will host non-conference foe Huntingdon College this Saturday, March 2 at Walker Field starting at 1:00.
