DEMOREST, Georgia -- The Piedmont women's lacrosse program remained undefeated after a 16-5 win over Meredith College Saturday afternoon in Demorest.  The Lions were able to outshoot the Avenging Angels 24-17 in route to the victory.  The win also marks the programs second victory in a row in USA South Conference competition.

The Lions got things started early with a MEGAN MCDOWELL goal at the 28:34 mark in the first period of play to go up 1-0.  Piedmont continued to control the pace of the game with four more goals in the first ten minutes of the contest.  Meredith got on the board with 9:42 left in the first half of play with a goal by Katie Burnet.  Meredith would go on to score a goal near the two-minute mark, but would find themselves down 6-2 to the host Lions at half time.

Piedmont's offense would explode in the second half, scoring ten goals in the final thrity minutes of play to Meredith's three second half goals.

The Lions were able to come away with the victory despite turning the ball over more than the Avenging Angels (20-18).  However, the Lions were able to avoid putting the ball on the ground as much as Meredith, posting only 12 ground balls to Meredith's 18.
