Gilbert, AZ - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has released the 2026 Division III Women's Scholar-Athletes listing with a historic 14 Lions from Piedmont University earning spots for their academic performance on the year.
The Lions' 14 selections is by far one of the largest numbers amongst regional Division III competition but also bested some of the most well-respected universities in America including UAA members NYU, Carnegie Mellon, Case Western, and in-state rival Emory University who placed nine on the same list.
The ITA believes within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court.
In 2026, 1,309 Division III Women's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
