Track & Field Travels to Belhaven for 2026 CCS Championships

DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont University track and field program travels to Belhaven for the Collegiate Conference of the South Championships, starting on Tuesday, April 21. The meet is scheduled to take place over two days concluding on Wednesday, April 22.

Piedmont enters looking to repeat as both returned to Demorest as champions from last year's' championships.

Both programs were selected atop the preseason coaches poll released in late February. For the men, this would mark their fourth-straight championship in the CCS in just the fourth year of the league, while for the women, it would be their third CCS title in four seasons. 

On the performance list for the CCS, the Piedmont men have seven athletes ranked in the top three and 18 individuals who rank at the top 10 of their events. Silas Gooslby continues being a standout for the Lions, ranking top three in the 100m, 200m and 110 Hurdle. George Ketch enters the championships with a strong campaign behind him. Coming into Tuesday, Ketch ranks top three in the discus and hammer throw events.

For the women on the performance list for the CCS, Piedmont posts 14 top-three finishes with 26 individuals who rank top 10 at their events. Bella Caccamo leads the way for the Lions, being ranked top three in four separate events (400m, 800m, 1500m and 400h) while being first in the 800m event. Michelle Cates also records multiple top three rankings. Entering Tuesday, she holds the No. 2 spot in the 100h and the No. 1 spot in the 400h. On the field side the Lions also sport multiple high finishers. Allison Cantrell top three rankings in two events, long jump and javelin, while owning the No. 1 ranking in javelin.
