FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Piedmont women's golf freshman Addison Maney has been selected as the USA South Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, released Wednesday afternoon.

The Demorest, Georgia native earns the honor after a remarkably consistent performance across three rounds at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational last weekend. 

 


Maney fired three consecutive rounds of 81 to finish tied for 63rd out of 120 golfers in a loaded field that included eight nationally ranked teams. In her final two rounds, Maney paced the team making three birdies each of the two days and a birdie and an eagle in her first round.

Her selection marks the third different Lion to earn USA South Rookie of the Week honors this season, joining fellow freshmen Aubree Hill and Lila Polakowski, who have each received honors twice.

Up next, the Lions will tee it up at the Stith Invitational, set to begin this Monday, March 30 in Glen Allen, Virginia.
