NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Four Lions headed north for the CNU Qualifier on Saturday in Newport News, Virginia looking to punch their ticket to NCAA Indoor Championships.
While no one qualified for NCAA Championships so far, all four lions finished top-10 in their event(s).
Starting off strong,
Silas Goolsby ran the 60m and the 200m. Goolsby finished the 60m with a time of 7.10 and placed eighth overall. In the 200m, he placed first with a time of 22.03.
Bryant Murray competed in the long jump in the afternoon and placed sixth overall with a mark of 6.28m.
Franklin Brown Jr. Competed in triple jump and set a new personal best. His mark of 13.17m also put him third overall.
Last but not least,
KK Thomas competed in the weight throw and placed second overall. She also set a new personal best with a mark of 14.13m.
Up next, the Lions are scheduled to head to Winchester, Virginia for the South Region Final Qualifier on March 6-7, while others will be kicking off their outdoor season at the Victor Ice Breaker Duals on March 7 in Rome, Georgia.
