ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. - Following round two of action at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational,
Erin Donovan has put herself in contention sitting in fifth place. Donovan carded a 73 (+1) in round two after a 74 (+2) in the opening round.
Donovan totaled four birdies in round two after a pair on Friday. She opened two over with a pair of bogeys through the first five holes, but rebounded to close out the back nine even with a pair of birdies. She moved to one under with a birdie on two, but ended the round one over on the day.
Keegan Goins sits second for the Lions overall after improving with an 81 in round two. After opening on hole 10, she birdied 16 and was able to shoot just +3 on the front nine.
Sarah Fox improved by 10 strokes in the second round to card a 78 Saturday. She totaled four birdies after posting a pair in the opening round.
Marissa Weaver had a strong start to the tournament with an 80 in the first round and posted a pair of birdies in round two.
Abigail Evans opened strong with a birdie on 10 and was consistent with an 87 on day one and an 88 in round two.
Emory University leads the event with a 595 team score (+19) while the Eagles' Sharon Mun is at the top of the individual leaderboard with a 144 (E), leaving Donovan three strokes back of the lead.
Up next, the Lions will have round three to conclude the tournament on Sunday.
