RICHMOND, Va. - Piedmont women's golf sits in 10th place after the first two rounds of the Stith Invitational in Richmond, Virginia Monday afternoon.

Erin Donovan led the way for the Lions, putting together a rock solid second round of 1-over 73. 

 


Donovan's second round helped push the Lions to a much stronger second round as a whole, finishing 26 strokes better than the first round.

Piedmont finds itself two strokes ahead of USA South foe Methohdist on the team leaderboard going into the final round.

Overall, Donovan tallied three birdies in each of her two rounds, and in the second, was able to keep big numbers off of her scorecard, making 12 pars in her second round.

The Lions counted three rounds in the 70's in their solid second round effort, as Keegan Goins fired a 3-over 75 while Lila Polakowski added a 7-over 79. Aubree Hill made a pair of birdies and carded the team's final counting score, a 9-over 81.

The first round saw just Donovan card a round in the 70's with her 6-over 78.

Three Lions counted rounds in the 80's in the opening round as Goins (82), Polakowski (85) and Addison Maney (89) were the other counting scores behind Donovan.

Up next, the Lions will take on the final round and look to move up the leaderboard, teeing off at 9:12 a.m. off of hole 10.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Donovan tallied six birdies on the day and finds herself in the top 15 on the individual leaderboard with 18 holes remaining.
