RALEIGH, N.C. - The Piedmont men's basketball team secured a win on the final day of 2025 over the William Peace Pacers by a final score of 72-57.
The Lions trailed for all of 21 seconds in this contest, as the Pacers struck first, but Piedmont carried the lead for the rest of the contest, securing a bounce-back victory.
Right out of the gate the Piedmont turned up the heat with an early 16-10 run, setting a running pace against their opposition.
Fisher Darden wasted no time in getting back to action, as the senior was once again heavily involved in the first half as he led the team with 12 points going into the locker room. The Lions wreaked havoc on the Pacers as they secured seven steals in the half and picked up 18 points via turnovers.Â
Piedmont entered halftime with a ten-point lead, sitting at 39-29.
Israel Hall joined Darden in the top scorers as the junior put together a solid game bolstered by a nine-point second half. The Lions would not relinquish their 10-point lead throughout the second half and led an 18-6 run to seal the game away with five minutes remaining.Â
William Peace would land one final three before the Lions timed the ball out and picked up a comfortable 72-57 win on the road.
Fisher Darden and
Israel Hall stood out for the Lions in the contest, with Darden leading the team with 18 points, wrapping up an impressive Dec. scoring 102 points in seven contests.
Israel Hall continues his breakout campaign for the season as the junior boosted the team with his 17 points.Â
The Lions will have a few days' rest before beginning conference play in Ky. against the Asbury Eagles on Jan. 3rd at 4:00 p.m.
