JC Cavin has announced the hiring of
John Tenerowicz as the program's new Assistant Coach with Tenerowicz arriving at Piedmont in the midst of a promising coaching career start.
"John's experience as a both a player and coach will have tremendous impact on the growth and development of our student-athletes, both on and off the court," said Cavin of the recent staff addition. "His proven ability to develop players and his passion on the defensive side of the basketball will be valuable assets to our program. Our student-athletes will benefit from his energy, basketball mind, and the relationships he builds with people. We are excited to welcome John and his wife, Hannah, to our program!"
Tenerowicz is a graduate of St. Ignatius High School who played at Ohio University from 2018-2022 helping the Bobcats to the 2021 MAC Tournament Championship and a NCAA Tournament appearance that same season.Â
Following his undergraduate days in the Midwest, Tenerowicz would play out his final season of eligibility at Division II Tiffin University. During his only season with Tiffin, the Dragons totaled the most conference wins in school history advancing to their first postseason appearance since moving to Division II.
After his final season as a collegiate player, Tenerowicz stayed at Tiffin to begin his coaching career spending the 2023-24 season as a Graduate Assistant before staying on staff the next two years as a full-time Assistant Coach.Â

Tenerowicz  was a double-major at Ohio University earning his Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance while also picking up a B.S. in Sports Management, graduating in 2022. Â
He then went on to receive his MBA with a specialization in Sports Management from Tiffin in 2024.
