ATLANTA - Piedmont men's basketball freshman forward Parker Renault has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

This honor marks the second time in the first three weeks of the season in which Renault has earned top rookie honors from the league.

 

The Charleston, South Carolina native played a major role in a pair of Piedmont victories this past week, totaling 33 points to go with 22 rebounds and three blocks in a 2-0 week for the Lions.

In the team's first road game of the season, Renault posted a season-high 19 points to go with nine rebounds, two blocks, a steal and an assist in a win at Warren Wilson.

Then, as the Lions returned home and defeated Sewanee 96-80 Saturday, he delivered his first career double double, with 14 points and 13 rebounds in 37 minutes.

Up next, the Lions will take on Charleston Southern in a Division I Exhibition tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. The contest can be broadcast on ESPN +.
