The Piedmont Cycling team took its mountain bike squad to Banner Elk, North Carolina, for the SECCC Mountain Bike Conference Championship. However, this was not a regular conference race, but rather a tri-conference race, meaning that, along with the SECCC conference, there were also the ACCC and MWCCC conferences.

There were teams from all over the East and the Midwest competing. This led to some stacked fields and a great prep for nationals.

Rain poured down on Friday and Saturday, leaving the rocks and roots that littered the trails extremely slick.

The Lions had some unfortunate luck this weekend, but are eager to redeem themselves at Mountain Bike Nationals in Grand Junction, Colorado. Nationals are just two weeks away, and the cycling team is making its final preparations to leave it all on the line.
