SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Thanks to a stellar 73 (+1) second round, Piedmont's
Erin Donovan sits tied atop the leaderboard individually heading into the final day of competition at the USA South Championship. Her 73 in the second round was two strokes better than Monday's performance and tied for the second-best round of the tournament.
Piedmont as a team was able to move up a slot to third overall edging out Southern Virginia by a single stroke after shooting a 333 team score on Tuesday.
Donovan began the day with a bogey but bounced back with a birdie on the very next hole. She shot even on the back nine with a pair of birdies and made par on all but one hole on the front nine for the one-over 73.
Shelby Clark carded an 83 in a bounce back effort while
Abigail Evans was able to move up the leaderboard to the top-20 with an 87. Evans sits tied for 19th, two spots ahead of
Sarah Fox who carded a 90.
Fox was one of two players in the 90s on Tuesday as

Methodist holds a sizeable lead in first while Donovan is tied with the Monarchs' Natalie Brosig at the top individually. Brosig was consistent with a 74 in both rounds.
