MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. -
Erin Donovan used a strong start to position herself inside the top-five sitting tied for fifth after the first two rounds at The Deb Jackson Invitational on Monday. Across two rounds, Donovan shot a 73-76 as she is in a four-way tie for fifth currently.
Piedmont as a unit was able to shave 10 strokes off in round two as they settled in with a 320-310 on the day.
In the opening round, Donovan was off to a -3 start through her first four holes with birdies on three of four to start the round. She ended with four bogeys through the remainder of the round to settle for a 73 (+1). Round two saw much of the team improve, but Dononvan hit a snag on 18 with a triple to post a 76 in round two.
Shelby Clark carded the best score in round two with a 73, shaving six strokes off her round one 79. She posted three birdies across the 36 holes.
Sarah Fox also added a score in the 70s with a 76 in round two to improve off her 81 to begin the tournament. Both
Keegan Goins and
Abigail Evans took two strokes off their round one totals as Goins shot an 85 in round two while Evans had an 86.
Emory University leads the event with a team score of 595 (+19) as the Eagles' Sharon Mun leads individually posting a -4 140 for the two rounds.
Up next, the Lions will conclude the event with round three on Tuesday.
