CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Piedmont University track and field team sent athletes to compete at the Lee Flames Invitational over the weekend. The meet was highlighted by
LAYTON BRADFORD's record setting performance in the men's 10K and multiple top 10 finishes against stiff competition.Â
LAYTON BRADFORD's 32:54.70 (72nd) broke the previous school record held by
CONNOR MORANOS by nearly 40 seconds.Â
In the men's 100m dash,
CHRIS DONSEREAUX finished in 9th place, running a 11.36. His stellar weekend was far from over as he ran a PR in the 200m dash (21.81), finishing in 7th place. He also finished in 10th place in the long jump by recording a distance of 6.11m.
GARRETT STADLERÂ turned in a 7th place finish in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 56.39. He also narrowly missed a top 10 placement in the men's high jump, with a best height of 1.80m (11th).
Freshman
SILAS GOOLSBY also had a good showing at the event as well, finishing just outside the top 10 in the men's 110m hurdles. He also placed top 20 in the men's 400m hurdles.
Up next, the full Piedmont squad is scheduled to travel to the Berry Field Day Invitational on Friday, April 14.
