ATLANTA, Ga. - The Piedmont University track and field program received five of the possible six weekly awards, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

JAYCIE PONCE,
SILAS GOOLSBY,
CORTNEY BROWN and
GARRETT STADLERÂ took home the honors based on their performances at the Berry Field Day Invitational this past weekend.
Halverson was named CCS Track Athlete of the Week on the men's side for his record breaking performance in the men's 5k where he set the new school record, running a 15:09.02. He previously has been named Athlete of the Week one other time in his career.
Ponce was named CCS Track Athlete of the Week on the women's side for her record breaking performance in the women's 1500m. Her time of 4:47.30 broke the previous school record by over 10 seconds. Jaycie has had a storied career at Piedmont with many awards and was named to the All-Conference Third Team in this event in 2022.
For the second week in a row, Goolsby has been named CCS Rookie of the Week on the men's side. This week, he turned in a 15.45 in the men's 110m hurdles, finishing in 4th place. The success continued as he then turned in another 4th place finish in the 400m hurdles (57.28).
For the second time this year, Brown was named CCS Field Athlete of the Week for her performance in the women's javelin. She broke the previous school record with her latest accomplishment, tossing 37.45m and earning weekly conference honors once again.
Stadler was named CCS Field Athlete of the Week for his performance in the men's high jump. Finishing in 7th place, he recorded a height of 1.80m and earned himself conference honors for the first time this year.Â
