ROME, Ga. - The Piedmont women's golf team took third place as the Chick-fil-A Invitational as the final round concluded on Tuesday afternoon in Rome, Georgia.
For the second straight round, sophomore
Caitlyn Chilito delivered her best performance of the fall, leading the Lions on Tuesday with an 8-over 80 to finish in the top 10 in the event. Chilito made one birdie on the day and had just one score of worse than bogey on her round.
Erin Donovan placed T-4 on the individual leaderboard as one bad hole hurt the sophomore's chances at taking home the individual title. Donovan still was just three strokes back of the top spot, making a pair of birdies on the front nine and closing out her day with seven consecutive pars.
Sarah Fox improved upon her first round score by a shot, posting an 84 while
Shelby Clark delivered the team's final counting score with a 91.
As a team, the Lions fired a final round team score of 339, slipping to third, but just one stroke behind second-place Christopher Newport.
The event concludes Piedmont's fall campaign that has seen more individual success and records broken.
