FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Piedmont women's golf freshmen SARAH FOX and LIZZIE HAMILTON were named USA South Co-Rookies of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The duo played a major role in leading the Lady Lions to the team title at the Piedmont Spring Invitational Tuesday.

Fox and Hamilton finished tied for second out of 30 golfers in the event.

Fox showed consistency over her two rounds, opening with an 85 while bettering that by a stroke Tuesday with a final round 84 to help Piedmont hold off Huntingdon in the team event.
 

Hamilton began the tournament with an 83 before closing with an 86.
 

This marks Fox's second Rookie of the Week honor as she also earned the award in the fall.

The Piedmont women's golf team will be back in action next Monday, April 4 at the Johnson & Wales Spring Invitational.
