CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Piedmont women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 shutout victory at Johnson & Wales on Wednesday afternoon in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Lady Lions lost only one total game in a dominant 3-0 doubles performance and won all six doubles lines to earn the shutout.

Five of Piedmont's six singles wins were in straight sets while three were perfect 6-0, 6-0 performances.

Playing in their first dual doubles match together, the No. 3 team of ALI WILSON and ANNA LASSITER rolled to an 8-0 victory to put the first point of the match on the board before IMANI VINCENT and MELISSA GISH did the same at No. 1.

Shortly after, the No. 2 doubles team of freshman HOLLAN RABENSDORF and junior TYLER PERRY prevailed 8-1 to make it a clean sweep and give the Lady Lions a 3-0 advantage heading into singles action.

Singles brought more Piedmont dominance as Gish (No. 2), Wilson (No. 4) and Lassiter (No. 6) each did not drop a game on their way to victory. The singles wins for Lassiter and Wilson were the first dual singles victories of their careers.

Vincent dropped just a single game in the second set on her way to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 while Rabensdorf picked up her first career dual singles victory, dropping just a single first set game.

Finally, it was Perry's match that came down to the wire, with the junior from Dawsonville, Georgia battling back from dropping the first set to win the second set, 6-4, and then take the superbreaker, 10-7, to help the Lady Lions earn their second shutout and remain perfect through three matches.

Up next, Piedmont will return home and host Methodist this Sunday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m.
