ATLANTA, Ga. - The Piedmont University men's basketball team was selected to finish second in the CCS Preseason Coaches Poll, released Thursday.

Following their final year in the USA South, Piedmont now moves to the CCS for the 2022-23 season and will look to improve their results.

Maryville was overwhelmingly selected as the number one team in the polls, receiving six (6) first place votes and 35 total points. 

The Lions were selected to finish behind the Scots, receiving one (1) first place vote and tallying 29 total points. LaGrange was the only other team to total more than 20 points at 25.

Piedmont returns a ton of talent this season and regains many key pieces that were lost due to injury during the previous season. The toughest task for the Lions will be to replace the now graduated JORDAN FOOTE. The 2022-23 season begins on the road for the Lions as they travel to Emory to take on the Eagles on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
