AUSTIN, Texas - Piedmont volleyball's
JESSICA BEIL was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
The senior defensive specialist/libero becomes the first member of the program to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors since Kaitlin Norman earned it in 2014.
Beil also joins Norman as the second Academic All-American in program history. Norman earned honors in back-to-back years (2013 and 2014).
Beil closed out her Piedmont career on the court with her strongest season yet, recording a career-best 447 digs in her senior campaign. Her 5.58 digs per set placed her first in the USA South.
She also surpassed the 1,000 career dig mark during the season and delivered a career-high 38 digs on two occasions, one of which was in a five-set win at Wesleyan for the Lady Lions.
Off the court, Beil has been named to the USA South All-Academic Team three times.
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Division III Academic All-America® teams program.
