Tatum Tabs Faith Miller as New Assistant Volleyball Coach

Demorest, Georgia - Just prior to the start of her second season, Piedmont University Head Volleyball Coach Kat Tatum has announced the hiring of Pfeiffer alum Faith Miller as the new Assistant Volleyball Coach for the Lions.

Miller joins a coaching staff ready to welcome an impactful freshman class that spans over seven different states and will add to a team that is poised for a breakout season in 2026.

The leader of that breakout season, Head Coach Kat Tatum, is ready for her new assistant coach to come on board, saying, "I'm so elated to welcome Faith Miller to Piedmont University Volleyball. Her passion for the game, commitment to student-athlete development, and enthusiasm for our vision make her a great fit for our program."

Her own collegiate career should provide some familiarity with the Lions as Miller spent her playing days at Pfeiffer University, a USA South member institution and once a conference foe for Piedmont when the Lions roamed the same league.

Spending her time either as a middle blocker or right side for the Falcons, Miller was a key part of the lineup no matter where she lined up playing in over 100 matches across her four years as one of the most consistent hitters on the team.

Miller burst onto the collegiate scene with her freshman season registering 150 kills for a top-five team mark in that category and was second on the team in blocks in that same season with 72 total.

Overall, Miller finished her college career with close to 500 kills and more than 150 blocks and 160 digs displaying her prowess at playing all around.

Perhaps one of her best qualities as a collegiate player was what many coaches deem the best ability - availability.

Twice Miller played 30-plus matches within the same season as three of her four years saw her take the court in every single Falcons volleyball match of the year.

Miller could hardly contain her joy in jumping on staff for the volleyball program, saying, "I'm incredibly excited to join Coach Tatum's staff at Piedmont. Her passion for developing student-athletes and the culture she's building made this an opportunity, I could not pass up. I'm grateful for the chance to contribute and help continue moving the program forward."

The Pfeiffer Iron Woman joins the Piedmont volleyball coaching staff as an assistant coach beginning with the fall 2026 season.

Piedmont volleyball opens the season on Tuesday, September 1 at in-state foe Oglethorpe University.
