GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Piedmont women's tennis team returned to action this past weekend, competing in the Golden Tigers Invitational hosted by Brenau University.

The Lady Lions took on opponents from Emmanuel and Brenau in a hidden dual format.

The return to action marks the first competition for the team since this past March and will be the only event they will compete in this fall.

For the Lady Lions, the two days were highlighted by a pair of wins from junior
MAGGIE MOODY.

Moody cruised to a straight sets victory, 6-0, 6-4 over Brenau's Mary Wynn Brannon before outlasting Emmanuel's Rozados, 8-7 (7-2).

Freshman
IMANI VINCENT battled against Brenau's Valentina Pabon but fell in tiebreakers in both sets for a 7-6 (3), 7-6 (3) final.

The duo of Vincent along with newcomer
MELISSA GISH was a bright spot in doubles action with the pair delivering a 6-4 win over the Emmanuel team of Rozados and Maria Raich.
