LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory at Covenant on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Lions (2-0) swept all three doubles matches and took the six singles matches in straight sets to win for the second consecutive day.
CAROLINE CONNELLY and
MAGGIE MOODY clinched the first point of the match with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles. Piedmont continued the momentum with easy wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to hold a 3-0 edge heading into singles.
Piedmont dominated in singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets.
MEGAN WALDHEIM put the Lady Lions up, 3-0, with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles before Connelly rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1.
PC clinched the match at 5-0 with
KARA LANDSIEDEL's 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 3.
With the outcome already decided,
MAGGIE MOODY,
SAMANTHA LOWRY and
LILY MCNEEL each rolled to easy straight-set wins at four through six to complete the sweep.
The Lady Lions are back in action on Friday, March 8 with a 9 a.m. match in Orlando against Carthage.

MEGAN WALDHEIM to win, 8-3, at No. 3 doubles. Then, in singles action, she won, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 6 to close out the shutout for PC.
