Montgomery, AL - In the regular season finale, the Piedmont College women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to the Hawks of Huntingdon College with
KARINA RIVERA and Morgan Buchholz winning in singles play. The loss closes out the regular season with PC posting a 7-9 record and going 3-4 in the USA South.
Huntingdon took a 3-0 lead after doubles play though Buchholz and
AMANDA BLACKWELL fought hard at #1 singles dropping an 8-6 decision. Buchholz rebounded to win 6-1, 6-4 at #1 singles while it was
KARINA RIVERA that claimed the other victory for PC at #5 singles winning 6-3, 6-4.
Rivera has been dominant in singles play this season as she has won nine of her last 10 singles matches.
SIMONA FLOYD came close at #3 singles dropping her sets 6-4, 7-6, nearly claiming the second set.
