LaGrange, GA - In the second meeting of 2017 against the LaGrange Panthers, the Lady Lions tennis team came up just short in a 5-4 loss on the road. Piedmont moves to 3-3 in conference play with one match remaining in the regular season as they take on Huntingdon Saturday. 

MORGAN BUCHHOLZ and AMANDA BLACKWELL combined for the win at #1 doubles edging out the Panthers 9-7 as PC led 2-1 after doubles play with wins at #1 and #3. AMANDA BLACKWELL also won at #2 singles coming back after a second set loss to win 7-5 in the third set.

SIMONA FLOYD nearly claimed a victory at #3 singles winning 6-4 to start before dropping two straight 6-2, 6-2. PC's other victory came at #5 singles with KARINA RIVERA continuing her dominance in singles play. 

Turning Point
--MORGAN BUCHHOLZ and AMANDA BLACKWELL won 9-7 at #1 doubles to give PC a 2-1 lead heading into singles play but the Panthers took all but two singles decisions to win the match. 

Standout Performances
--KARINA RIVERA continued her impressive streak at #5 singles winning 7-5, 6-2 having won eight of the last nine singles matches. 

Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont sits at 3-3 in conference play with one USA South match remaining before seeding for the conference tournament. 

News & Notes
--This marked the second competition against LaGrange this season but the first in conference play.
