Demorest, GA - In a key USA South contest at home, the Piedmont College women's tennis team came up with perhaps its biggest win of the season knocking off visiting LaGrange College 8-1 earlier Saturday afternoon. 

Piedmont raced out to a 5-0 advantage securing the match through three points at doubles and a point at both #1 and #2 singles with NICOLE PARRISH clinching the match at the top spot.  Parrish took her decision in straight sets though she needed to hold on 7-5 in the second set to secure the match victory for her team.

With the match in hand, Piedmont would go on to take the 8-1 win over the Panthers inching closer to the USA South postseason with the key conference victory at home. 

The Lady Lions won't have long to regroup as USA South foe Huntingdon College comes to town Sunday morning for a 10:00 am match that will be Piedmont's final contest of the regular season.

Turning Point
--NICOLE PARRISH's 6-3, 7-5 win at the #1 singles spot secured the win giving Piedmont a 5-0 advantage with still four decisions to finish.

Standout Performances
--TATIANA BURKETT and KARINA RIVERA held on at #3 doubles 9-7 to take a key third point in doubles play for the Lady Lions who used the advantage to get the win.

Inside the Box Score
--Piedmont's largest margin in doubles play came at the top spot with NICOLE PARRISH and AMANDA BLACKWELL winning 8-4 as the other two were decided by two games.

News & Notes
--Piedmont came into the day with a five-match winning streak against the Panthers dating back to the 2012 season.

Up Next
The final regular season contest of the 2016 season with Huntingdon College coming to Demorest tomorrow for a 10:00 am first serve.  The Sunday contest will also be the USA South regular season finale for PC.
