STORYLINES
-The Lady Lions have won three of their last four contests
-N.C. Wesleyan had a six-match win streak snapped in the final regular season contest with a loss to Methodist

THE COACHES
Dustin Hale leads the Battling Bishops as he wraps up his first season at the helm. Hale was hired in the summer of 2015 and is an N.C. Wesleyan alum. No stranger to NCWC tennis, he comes in with six combined USA South Championships to his credit, having helped the Bishop men capture the program's first-ever USA South Regular Season and Tournament Championships as a senior player before repeating those same feats as an assistant coach the following two seasons.

Now in his 13th season at Piedmont, Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach Shane Wood has made his mark as one of the most successful coaches on staff at PC and throughout the world of collegiate tennis in the Southeast. Wood has ten conference titles to his name as well as a NCAA National Tournament appearance to go with a bevy of individual student-athlete accolades he has seen in his time leading the Green and Gold. Wood's 300th career win came in 2014 on the final day of the regular season as his men's and women's teams both swept visiting Greensboro College at Burgen Tennis Courts.

SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA WESLEYAN
The Battling Bishops are 11-5 this season and just had a six match win streak ended in the final match of the regular season. Valeria Berber improved on her Second Team honor last spring by garnering First Team accolades this season. The senior from La Piedad, Mexico anchored top-seeded singles and doubles for the Bishops the entire season, going 10-1 in conference singles and 8-3 in league doubles. Also earning Second Team recognition was sophomore Florencia Sorrentino, who manned #3 singles and #2 doubles. Sorrentino led the team with 19 singles wins this season, going 11-1 in conference play. Rounding out Wesleyan's honorees were Honorable Mention players Ana Diaz and Andrea Tobar.

SERIES RECORDS
The series between these two is tied 2-2 with Piedmont winning the first two but dropping the last two matches against the Battling Bishops. These teams have met once each season since the Lady Lions joined the USA South with Piedmont winning in 2013 & 2014 and N.C. Wesleyan winning in 2015 & 2016.

SUCCESSFUL SENIOR
In her senior season, NICOLE PARRISH has been successful earning honorable mention all-conference honors this week. Parrish finished the season with an 8-7 mark at the #1 singles position for Piedmont winning her final three matches in regular season play. In doubles with AMANDA BLACKWELL, the pair were 11-5 including a 10-1 mark in their last 11 matches. The senior from nearby Baldwin, Georgia helped the Lady Lions to their best record since the 2014 season finishing with nine wins in the regular season and 7-5 in conference play.

LAST TIME OUT: LOSS V. HUNTINGDON 7-2
In the 2016 regular season finale for the Piedmont College women's tennis team, Huntingdon College took a 7-2 win over the hosting Lady Lions at Burgen earlier Sunday.

The Lady Lions dropped two of three doubles decisions to fall behind early with the pairing of AMANDA BLACKWELLand NICOLE PARRISH taking the lone win at #1 doubles.

After trailing 2-1 heading into singles, the Lady Lions could not recover with Piedmont taking only one of six singles decisions.  It was Parrish accounting for the win again as she took a three-set decision at the #1 spot over Zoya Robinson.

NEXT UP FOR PIEDMONT
The winner of this match will advance to face #2 Covenant on Saturday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m.
