Demorest, GA - In the 2016 regular season finale for the Piedmont College women's tennis team, Huntingdon College took a 7-2 win over the hosting Lady Lions at Burgen earlier Sunday.

The Lady Lions dropped two of three doubles decisions to fall behind early with the pairing of AMANDA BLACKWELL and NICOLE PARRISH taking the lone win at #1 doubles.  

After trailing 2-1 heading into singles, the Lady Lions could not recover with Piedmont taking only one of six singles decisions.  It was Parrish accounting for the win again as she took a three-set decision at the #1 spot over Zoya Robinson.

The loss does not end Piedmont's 2016 campaign though as the Lady Lions secured a spot in the USA South Championship Tournament with a win yesterday over LaGrange.

Turning Point
--The Hawks turning two in doubles play to hold the advantage heading into singles.

Standout Performances
--NICOLE PARRISH collected a win in both singles and doubles play on Senior Day at Burgen Tennis Courts.

Inside the Box Score
--Parrish's three-set decision was the first time this season that she has played a three-set match at the #1 singles spot.

News & Notes
--Piedmont and Huntingdon will both be headed to the USA South postseason with Huntingdon earning the 5 seed while Piedmont takes the 6 seed.

Up Next
The Lady Lions secured the #6 seed in the upcoming USA South Championship Tournament and will face 3rd seeded North Carolina Wesleyan College on Friday, April 15 at 10:00 am in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
