The Lady Lions could not pick up a set in singles action though
NICOLE PARRISH and
AMANDA BLACKWELL pushed the issue at #2 doubles falling 8-6 to Millsaps' Jordyn Kanak and Reya Hayek.
In singles play, newcomer
TABEA SOELTER fell 7-5 in the first set before dropping the second 6-3. The Majors completed their ninth victory of the year with the result, and it's Millsaps' 6th straight win of the 2016 season.
For Piedmont, the next match will also come at home as PC hosts Oglethorpe University on March 16 for a 4:00 pm match at Burgen.
Turning Point--Turning the tight decision at #2 doubles gave Millsaps the 3-0 advantage headed into singles play.
Standout Performances--Parrish and Blackwell pushed the #2 doubles decision to an 8-6 result before falling to the Majors.
Inside the Box Score--All six decisions in singles play came in straight sets though Soelter did push in the first set at #6 singles.
News & Notes--Piedmont is 0-5 against Millsaps since the 2010 season meeting in all but the 2011 and 2015 campaigns. Up NextA battle of Peach State foes with Oglethorpe coming to town on March 16 for a 4:00 pm match at Burgen Tennis Courts.
