Fayetteville, NC - The Piedmont College women's tennis team fell 9-0 earlier today to the team picked to win the USA South in the Coaches Preseason Poll, Methodist University.  The Monarchs snapped Piedmont's three-match winning streak in the process taking all nine decisions to give the Lady Lions just their second loss of 2014. 

No Lady Lion took a set off the four-time defending conference champion Monarchs who are now 2-0 in USA South play and 7-1 overall with their only loss coming to Mary Washington back on February 15th. 

With the loss, Piedmont drops to 3-2 on the season now snapping a three-match winning streak that started with a 9-0 win over Johnson University on February 17th at Burgen Tennis Courts.  Piedmont had not dropped a decision in any of their three consecutive wins taking 9-0 victories each time before falling on the road to the Monarchs today, the team picked to win the USA South in the Coaches Preseason Poll released by the league in January.

The Lady Lions now turn their attention to a morning matchup with William Peace University on Sunday as PC completes their spring break road trip through North Carolina.  First serve in the conference battle between Piedmont and the Pacers in Raleigh is set for 11:00 am.
