Orlando, FL - The Piedmont College women's tennis team completed its three-match trip through the Sunshine State earlier today winning 7-2 over SUNY-Oneonta to pick up a second win in Orlando.  The Lady Lions saw Ashley Fannon win her fourth singles decision of the week as PC went 3-1 in four matches as well starting with a thrilling 5-4 win over rival Maryville back on Monday, a match in which Fannon had the deciding point.

Taking wins in doubles play were the pairings of Nicole Parrish and Amanda Blackwell as well as Viola Terschluse and Laura Goodwin.  Parrish and Blackwell took their win at the #2 doubles spot with an 8-3 decision while an 8-2 decision went the way of Terschluse and Goodwin at #3 doubles. 

With a 2-1 lead after doubles play in hand, the Lady Lions saw all but the #6 singles spot fall in their favor as Katie Sailors picked up her 9th singles win of the season with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Emily Maggiore at the #1 spot.  Terschluse moved to 8-6 in singles play with the win at #2 while Parrish was the winner in three sets at #3 singles, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. 

Amanda Blackwell won at the #4 spot 6-3, 6-2 over Michelle Spencer while Ashley Fannon picked up her team-leading 12th win of 2014 with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at the #5 singles spot.  Fannon is a sure-fire candidate for USA South Player of the Week having won now nine straight individual matches including four during last week alone.

The Lady Lions improve to 9-5 with the win and wrap up their trip down south with a 2-1 record.  PC now readies to host Covenant College this coming Tuesday, April 1st for an afternoon match at Burgen Tennis Courts set to start at 3:00 pm.
